Reinforcing Bars at the New Concrete Slab.

Instead of light gauge welded wire mesh, # 4 reinforcing bars at 16" on center each way were specified by the Structural Engineer. Hopefully the stronger

concrete reinforcing bars will prevent major cracks from occurring in the concrete slab down the road. In addition, reinforcing connector bars were drilled

into the existing house foundation and epoxy in place and tie wire wrapped together to the slab reinforcing bars and as can be seen in the left half of this

photograph below.
